Avatyr Business Consulting was founded by Arvind Vasu, an entrepreneur and professional with a rich experience in Corporate Venture Capital, Industrial Automation, Robotics, Sales & Marketing, Management, and Leadership. Arvind has held several leadership roles in these fields during the course of his career. Born in Sweden and raised in India, he spent a large part of his professional career overseas during which he has lived & worked in five countries. He now offers his professional and multicultural experience to Start-ups, SMEs, Venture Capital Firms and Corporates in order to help them achieve their business goals.

Arvind Vasu started his career in 1992 as a management trainee at ABB in Sweden. He became a manager for ABB’s IT Infrastructure services in Sweden, and later joined the Process Automation division where he was responsible for Sales & Marketing support to India & China. During his tenure at ABB, he has held various positions in Sales, Marketing and Management and worked in USA, Malaysia, China and India. In 2004, Arvind moved to Bangalore, India to start ABB’s Robotics Business. Starting from scratch, the robotics business grew to exceed revenues of 20 MUSD with over 100 employees in 2009.

In 2010 Arvind joined Kemppi OY, a Finnish Welding products company. He established their subsidiary company in Chennai, India where he worked as Managing Director to build a business catering to the Indian market.

Arvind started his own Consulting practice in 2014 to help European small & medium sized companies gain entry to the Indian market. He later supported a variety of Start-ups and more established companies with business development related to IoT, automation and machinery. Arvind also worked with several Indian business houses - offering them sales training and other business advisory services.

Starting in 2016, Arvind led the Investments for ABB Technology Ventures in Asia. He made investments in start-ups from India, China and Europe. The investments were aligned with ABB’s strategy to collaborate with start-ups working to build the Future of Factories & Automation, Electric Vehicles and Smart infrastructure. Arvind has served as Board director or observer at several portfolio companies. Apart from being the go-to person for questions on Robotics & Automation, he has guided a number of start-ups on how to collaborate with a corporate like ABB. Until his exit from ABB in 2020, Arvind also led the corporate innovation activities of ABB's "Synerleap" accelerator program in India. 

Arvind holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from India and an MSc in Computer Science & Engineering from Chalmers University in Sweden. He has also completed an executive education at IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland.

In his spare time, Arvind enjoys travelling, music, playing his guitars, scuba diving and riding motorcycles.
